Oct. 27th, 2017

We have a new student, Craven! Div. 9 have been very kind and welcoming, I am very proud of them all!

Our skating field trip on Tuesday was a success and fun was had by all!   Thanks to all the parents that drove and helped out with skates.  We wouldn't be able to go without all your help!

Just right reading (JRR) book bags came home on Wednesday, hopefully you got the letter and bag. If not please let me know.  I have also reminded the class they need to bring these book daily. Not all students have their Reader's Workshop books yet, as they don't get them until they have been at the Book Club station with me.  Everyone will have them by Tuesday (usually they have the books for a couple of weeks (2 rotations) but being these are all Halloween related books we are only doing one rotation).  Thank you to Kamryn and Vienna's moms (Miranda and Nancy) for volunteering to help out with our Reader's Workshop each morning - your help is so appreciated!

Tuesday is Halloween and our celebration.  There will be a parade at 8:45 am.  ***WE WILL NOT BE DOING PLANNERS THAT DAY - everyone will be out trick-or-treating so I didn't think it made sense to bring home a book!  Please ensure that your child's costume is easy to take on and off as they are going out for recess and lunch, plus Div. 9 has a 40 minute gym class.  You won't want their costume to be ruined for Halloween night.  Thanks to the students for providing the snacks and goodies for our party.  Alanna - fruit plate, Ava - veggie plate, Steve - cheese/crackers or small sandwiches, Ben - sweet treat, Troy - popcorn/chips or pretzels, Sienna - ?.
***Please remember no peanuts.
Please be sure to still send a lunch as we won't be having our celebration until the afternoon.

Field trip to Fort Langley on Friday, Nov. 17th is now on the portal.  Thanks to everyone who has already signed up ad sent in the money.

Our Great Canadians start on Thursday, Nov. 2 so hopefully everyone has started at least thinking about these and checking their child's date.

During Explorations the students have been doing 'Holman Wang' style art with puppets and one single word.  Their work is creative as you can see from just a few of their pictures!
